Canada Day

It's July 1st, happy Canada Day to all Canucks. Proud to be here and to call myself Canadian. I've been on a flag kick this week since the World Cup is on, but no other flag really deserves top spot today, so here it is.

And for the historically curious, check out the Flag as it looked pre 1965, before our beloved maple leaf was adopted. Before that we used, The Red Ensign.

Fallen

They're done. Brazil is now out and there are no South American teams left in the world cup. Unbelievable. Unbelievable. I have nothing more to say today.

Aghast

Argentina. . . defeated. . . my South American neighbours, ousted by the world cup host country's team. . . wow. completely unexpected and in penalty shots too. The rest of the game was really really really close. For the first time in this world cup, I am uncertain as to how it will all turn out. I've still got Brazil to root for, but. . what an upset.

I'm off to a screening of a short film that some friends and I entered in a contest. Details upon my return!
