Happy New Year! Adventures abound!

Long night, nice and low key, playing dvd trivial pursuit at friend's place after having all gone for thai food. Left at around one am, after being humiliated at trivial pursuit.

On the walk home at around Queen's Quay and Bay, maybe half a block west of there, a guy dressed only in a button down, stops to ask me for directions (he was fully clothed otherwise as well, just no jacket or gloves or winter necessities)! He explains that he's trying to get to the Marriot and thinks it's at Yonge and college. I don't remember where the damned Marriot is--okay there are three in Toronto, the Courtyard by the Marriot one is at Yonge and College, well you get my drift, this guy was way off course. I was offered him money for a cab, cuz he was going to walk, with no jacket on(!), he wouldn't take him so we tried to find him an atm that would take his visa card. He was from Michigan and had been unable to take money out. I was on my way to the harbor sports grill at yonge and queen's quay anyway, so I took him there.

ATM didn't work, but my friend in the restaurant convinced the manager that this was a special predicament and he gave the dude cash back via the top portion of his bill. He bought me a beer and proceeded to apologize to me for GWBush for about an hour. Asked me what Canadians really thought of Americans. So I told him and then he hit me. Just kidding. I told him, but I also explained that we're not stupid--he was surprised by how much I knew about American political happenings, like Ashcrofts resignation for example--and we know it's the administration and Jesus that are ruining everything, not the people.

It's funny how he thought I wouldn't know things about his country, I wish I had had the presence of mind to suggest he watch the news here for awhile before he leave. As it is, his visit was completely eye opening he said. I wonder though, how much of it was true? He went so far as to say he wanted dual citizenship! Maybe it's true. Anyway I hope he got home all right.

That was my most interesting adventure. The next one started when I got up to my apartment and sent out a bunch of 'happy new year' texts, I got one back from a girl that I haven't spoken to in about a month--not because she did anything wrong, I just haven't.--anyway I called and she was at a party in my building about 14 floors down. Well I offered her some parking because she had said, she was leaving at 6:am when her parking expired and wished she could sleep in. . . no, silly, not with me!

We waited and waited for my waitress friend, who rents my parking space in the building to finish her shift and swap me garage door openers. . . well, she never called but at around 5:am i called down to the front desk and there was an evelope for me! Geez, so we went got her car, drove to where I was in the visitors parking and put her car there, then drove my car into the garage and escorted her up the elevator!

Then I stayed up and did some writing. Like I said, long night. I don't know if I will post this entire entry, it looks kinda long.
Um. . . Happy New Year!
